It's your own body so you control that and your decisions, no one should take over or interfere with that.
@9FZ4KJ93yrs3Y
If I were to be put in the position where I had a choice between an abortion or keeping the child, it is my choice since it’s my body. I can’t believe that we have gone back in time where abortions are illegal in 1st world countries, it’s actually disgraceful and shocking. No one should be able to take away the right to your own body. Very much against your basic human rights.
@9FZVLJQ 3yrs3Y
It’s your choice to do it because it’s your body and when you do an abortion it’s before a fetus becomes a child

Being prochoice does not mean an encouragement to get abortions, but an available option to those who need and or want to go down that route with consultation from mental health experts and doctors

I believe that woman who are pregnant and want to abort should be able to. Sometimes people realize all the mistakes they've done in their life too late. But abortion makes it so it's not too late. Pregnancy and raising a child is so serious, woman shouldn't have to take responsibility for these mistakes because a child isn't a mistake. I think raising a child through this is worse.

I think and whole heartedly believe that we should choice when we want to bring children into the world and we should be able to make the decision without having the government do it for us.
The rape related pregnancy rate is 5% among victims who are at or above the age to reproduce, this is anywhere between 12 and 50! Imagine if you took away the right from a 12 year old girl! A girl who couldn't live her life properly because she has a child to take care of!

Pro-choice does not necessarily mean you agree with abortions. It means you agree with giving people the right to choose what they do with their life and body. The basic right of autonomy. While majority of people view abortions as a solution to being 'careless', there are so many more reasons that one may choose to have an abortion. It may be putting the mother at risk physically, mentally, or financially.
The choice to terminate a pregnancy is the choice of the person who is pregnant. It is unlawful to make decisions about another person's body when there is no consideration given to their mental or physical health, nor the situation that child may be brought into. The child may end up in a hateful situation that was not their choice but society has forced them into due to policy. If the situation is bad enough then the child will go into "the system" causing further harm to society as their environment influences their behaviour and outlook towards their world.
The human body (although capable) goes through so many changes and they are not always easy. There is also too many children who need loving families in NZ and that is evidence of why woman should have the right to choose. Money is another contributing factor. There are too many families on benefits who should have the right to not have children because they are already on the bottom of the income ladder!

There are over 24,000 children in foster care at the moment, and only 125 adoptions happening in the year 2020 . Thats thousands of children in foster care until they eventually age out with next to know help. By providing women with the right to choose we can reduce these numbers and have less and less children being given up and living a life parentless.
every year 1 in 30 women are raped almost all the time they can not control it and struggle from mental issues such as deppresion and ptsd after, women struggle so much they commit suicide sometimes. 2/3rd of female rape victims are the age of 12-17, at this age women's minds are not fully developed and not ready to have a child. A 12 year old can not care for themselfs let alone another child and their families may not have the money or room for another child.

Terry Bellamak is an example of a pro-choice advocator. She is the former national president of ALRANZ, which is an national pro-choice advocacy group for abortion rights, law reform New Zealand. Terry Bellamak believes women should have the opportunity to take control of their own lives and to feel safe doing so. She wants to make all abortion services in New Zealand more accessible, including rural areas as she believes people situated in rural areas are ill-served when it comes to accessing abortion services as it cost more, in her opinion its a big equity issue. “People who seek abo… Read more

If you were raped, would you want to raise the child who reminded you of that trauma? If you used all protection correctly, is it fair you should have to give up such a large part of you life due to fault in that contraceptive? If you couldn’t afford to support that child, would they be better off living a poor quality life without many essentials, or in a foster home bouncing through the system feeling unwanted and unloved when the outcome could have been prevented before the child even turn from a organism to a fully functioning person? If men could get pregnant, and they were the one who had to make these sacrifices raise this child, most would feel differently, but because it’s not them who have to undertake this what in some situations would be called as a burden it’s easy to judge right?

This women has to firstly carry the baby to full term, every day potentially relive the assault forced upon her. The mental torture and anguish of javing to give birth to your rapists baby. Forcing her to be the victim for 9 months, or longer if she keeps the child in her custody.
What if her life choice was also never to have children?
What of the baby, who one day may find out how they were conceived?
@9FXTL763yrs3Y
Women deserve the right to choose what to do with their body in the same way men can. It is women that have to carry that baby for 9 months. It is women whose careers get put on hold so that she can have said baby.
Women should be able to choose if they are ready to bring life into the world because so many women aren’t financially, physically and mentally ready to go thru with having a child especially if the circumstances in getting pregnant. So many women that get a abortion are either victims of rape or not in a situation where they feels ready to devote their life to a child for… Read more

We already have a high number of abortions it was recorded in 2020 that there were 186 abortions per 1,000 known pregnancies, pro-choice needs to stand as from 2015-2018 there was a total of 86,400 pregnancies manually, out of these 44,900 pregnancies were unintended where 13,100 of these ended in an abortion which is why we need to be pro-choice

I can see how everyone’s lives and ability to raise children is so different and therefore I believe that each person should be able to make their own decision and do what is best for them. If someone is not comfortable with themselves, their bodies and their situation, how are they meant to make it comfortable with an extra being? Why bring a child into this world if they won’t get their best upbringing?
In a perfect world every child would be born to loving, consenting adults. They would be financially secure, in good health, at an age where they understood the pressure of raising a child and baby would have no defects to makel life intolerable or more complex than any other child.
Women need to be able to make the right choice for them.
There are dozens of reasons why women choose to abort. It may be because they were raped, or because it would be cruel to continue a pregnancy with a child that will never live or require immense medical support. I got pregnant on three different methods of contraception. I did not want children, but got pregnant regardless of contraception. I chose to have all of them, but nonetheless all women should be able to make this choice.

At the end of the day it's that persons life and they should be able to do what they want with their own body - if they can not financially support a child or if child birth is life threatening to them why should they not be able to get an abortion - the unborn fetus doesn't know have conscious memory yet - can any of us as adults remember our time in the womb? no.
Remains a personal choice, the woman alone knows her situation and what she can and can't cope with. Some woman in abusive and controlling relationships have contraception deliberately with-held. As for victims of rape and incest, they had no choice when the person who abused them did so without consent, do not re-victimise them by making them have a child - the experience will be another lifetime reminder of the abuse, and what of the child born into that situation???

It’s just common sense, protect the people that already live and exist and pay your goddamn taxes over a cluster of cells that can’t live outside of that women choosing to carry it and bring it to life. If it cannot survive without the women carrying it and it’s not harming her life then it shouldn’t be included as life yet.

I strongly support a pro-choice stance on abortion. It's crucial to respect personal autonomy, allowing individuals to make decisions about their own bodies. Legal abortion is essential for the health and well-being of women, preventing unsafe procedures. Unplanned pregnancies can arise from complex situations, and legal access provides a humane solution. It also respects diverse moral and religious beliefs while promoting public health and safety. Looking at history and international comparisons, legalizing abortion has improved women's lives and reduced maternal mortality. Furthermore, it can contribute to addressing concerns about overpopulation and resource strain

If your pro choice then you have already decided to enforce your will onto others and there own body choices, why would you enforce someone to live a harmful unwanted life? Do you really want someone to live unwanted or struggle with life in a bad family situation?
We all must have our own choices on our own bodies and future.
@BD8LXFT3 days3D
No one should have control over a woman’s body except the woman herself. The decision to continue or end a pregnancy is hers alone. There are many situations where that choice becomes especially urgent—such as cases of rape, pregnancy in minors (even where legal consent may technically apply), unsafe or unstable living conditions, serious risk to the woman’s health or life, or severe fetal abnormalities where survival or quality of life would be extremely poor. In such circumstances, forcing someone to continue a pregnancy can have devastating consequences. At the stage when… Read more

Abortion is the deliberate ending of a human life, and is immoral regardless of circumstance. No matter how tragic the situation e.g. poverty, abuse, disability, potential hardship, abortion is never the answer. Adoption and parenthood are choices, and there are also choices to be made which would reduce the amount of unwanted pregnancies in the first place. Contraception use, but also educating people on the importance of a healthy and loving relationship vs the prevalence hook-up cultures. Abortion is never medically necessary to save the life of the mother, even in situations where her health is at risk.

Women have the right to change their minds about whether or not they wish to keep a baby. Especially women who have been impregnated without consent. From previous experiences, being forced to keep a baby is traumatizing and tiring mentally. Many women feel trapped and unable to voice their needs if they are forced to keep a baby. We have a right to abort, as it is our body that endures the stress and pain and it will be a life saver if women had the choice to abort.
@9G5MLKM3yrs3Y
Your body, your choice. If you have a choice for medical operations or if you want treatment or not, why cant people have a choice on whether or not you want or need an abortion? If woman get raped and sexualy abused and fall pregnat due to that and are not allowed to get an abortion theyn why cant the perpatrator not have a choice as well and get castrated completely and sent to prison for life? People shouldnt be micro managed on what they belive is the best option for them and their body?
If you don't agree that's fine but don't take the choice from some stranger whos baby is going to kill them or some 12 year old who was raped by a uncle or brother statistic shows that more often than not its some one in your family circle so agree with me or ill tickle your kneecaps and find you and take your dog and family <3
