9>9 Personal answerYes, by a lot. We need armoured vehicles (e.g. main battle tanks, armoured fighting vehicles), artillery (e.g. HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system), air defence systems (e.g. Patriot missile defence), more powerful navy ships (e.g. more advanced frigates, destroyers and cruisers, as well as submarines), and of course we need fighter aircraft (e.g. F-35, F-15EX, F-16V, Eurofighter Typhoon, Dassault Rafale). Also allow nuclear-powered vessels such as ships and submarines. We also need more soldiers. Our current military is too weak and lags too far behind other OECD countries and our allies. This is not 10 years ago. Geopolitical tensions are increasing to a breaking point, and soon we may have to choose a side, and therefore get caught in the middle of it. We should also negotiate a military alliance with the United States, Australia, Great Britain, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Taiwan, Canada, and perhaps NATO. If that will jeopardise our safety too much, then prioritise one with the USA, Australia, Britain and Canada first, before potentially adding Japan and South Korea, the Philippines, and then Taiwan and other NATO countries. |
