This should be decided after the current war ends, but I don't believe either way that there would be a world war

No. The Ukraine essentially caused the current war by an obvious and arrogant movement towards the Russian border. Under Article 5 NATO would be at war with Russia - the only countries that should be able to spark such a tragedy should be blameless - the Ukraine is far from blameless.

No, this is based on previous commitment not to do so, that they've broken - with the help of the US
