Mixing polymers like this also contaminates high value recycling streams such as PP & PET. A blended biodegradable resin is pointless. How do you expect a mixed biodegradable product to entirely biodegrade if its mixed with another resin that's designed for a separate waste stream? You are essentially mixing good re-usable plastic (PP, PET) with a "other" grade polymer, thus condemning the entire product to landfill.
Our focus needs to shift toward a smarter handling of polymers that enable them stay high within the waste stream and enable systems to support this such as the container deposit scheme. A good example of this would be to standardize additives, pigments and eliminate use harder to recycle polymers (PS, LDPE etc.) within single or low use products.
