So called disposable products are often reused, and people end up buying replacements. For example the plastic bag bag/

Have an incentive for organisations have other alternatives to use re-usable products and penalty for companies that use plastic

Ban plastic products that are not essential. - plates, bags etc. Some products that are plastic can be reused and are also needed for hospitals etc. But also have a incentive in place for Tue plastics that aren't band

There's literally no justification to ban a product. All points in favor of Yes are strawman arguments that bring into question the handling, not the possessing of said product.

Plastic products should be banned where it is reasonable to do so. There are many products that have been brought to market to replace plastic use, but are not fit for purpose. Other things like face masks (which are encouraged) cause just as much, if not more pollution issues.

Biodegradable material is not currently supported enough by our infrastructure. Mixing polymers like this also contaminates high value recycling streams such as PP & PET. A blended biodegradable resin is pointless. How do you expect a mixed biodegradable product to entirely biodegrade if its mixed with another resin that's designed for a separate waste stream? You are essentially mixing good re-usable plastic (PP, PET) with a "other" grade polymer, thus condemning the entire product to landfill.

Our focus needs to shift toward a smarter handling of polymers that enable them…  Read more

Other plastics that actually destroy the environment and give it more harm needs to be focused more on rather than plastic straws and forks

Over 380 Million tonnes of plastic products are being produced annually. So, as recycling is a good option for now, the only way to fix the problem is to get rid of it completely.

Lowest impact on carbon footprint, would like to see a closed loop recycling system such as a container deposit scheme?

The long-term negative effects of plastic on the environment are well known! Modern science should be able to find a solution to this problem. Start putting pressure on big plastic-user corporations (like McDonald's...) and they will invest more money into Non-plastic alternatives!

How can you seriously get rid of plastic bags from the supo and don’t get me started on plastic straws how dare you make me use paper straws.
