women make up such a large percentage of this country, why should their medical rights be stripped down to their ability to create life. forcing a woman to have a child regardless of her situation wether it be unplanned, a product of rape or incest is not only barbaric, but also sends out the message that NZ only considers women baby making machines. This is entirely wrong. the right to abortion is health care. provide healthcare to those who need it. men do not have to go through half of what women go through in order to get preventative measures such as birth control, or their tubes tied. men can decide they want a vasectomy with no issue. This is not right, young women deserve to be receiving health care including and not limited to sexual health. why should a human being be forced to carry a baby to term when they have expressed that they do not want, cannot afford and also cannot care for this child. forcing a woman to carry a child to term not only puts this person at risk, but also will decrease the quality of life the child will recieve.
