Things have changed drastically in the 60 years since that Act was put in place. Women are just as educated and work focused as men

Absolutely not. There are still gender based titles, with the feminine very obviously getting paid much less than men

Pay should be equal regardless of gender. If you are qualified for the job then gender should not factor in it

It’s clearly not working as identified in pay equity claims across multiple sectors including public ones.

Pay workers what they are worth why should I be paid less than my counterparts in private practice when we do the same job?

 @9F9BKZZLabourdisagreed…2yrs2Y

They are not. There remains a large pay gap between the sexes for no apparent reason ther than sexism.

if a man and a woman have been given the same education and requirements to take on this roll, then yes they should be paid the exact same. No one should be paid more for a roll two people are educated in. It’s only fair.

These provisions have failed to result in pay parity in reality - the gender pay gap remains very wide

The stats are clear - women still get paid way less than men, and Māori and Pasifika wāhine get paid the least. This is discriminatory and unbecoming of a nation priding itself in championing equality & women’s rights

If two people have gone through the same education and/or they produce the same standards and levels of work that complies with their place of business then they there shouldn't be any discrimination in their pay because of how they project their gender/ how they identify. It is unfair to discriminate based on gender because then where does it end? Do you identify a woman based on her genitals? if so that's gross and something a business shouldn't even know about.
