Gender should not define qualification of people because yes I support women rights and more women should be in the office and in parliament but if a male has spent years studying I would rather the man that has studied rather than a women that hasn't studied as long or is less qualified.

While evidence suggests that businesses are more profitable if they have more women on their board (https://businessnz.org.nz/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Women-on-Boards.pdf) it doesn’t necessarily provide proof that this is so.
However women and men do have different perspectives, strengths, and weaknesses so it’s important that all are given equal opportunities. Neither should be favoured or given advantages on the basis of their gender. Therefore I believe that a natural selection of talent is best.
The suggestion that someone should be promoted to a position based on gender, or other diversity characteristics, inherently assumes they will be biased in favour of the characteristic they have been selected on. To accept and reinforce bias in leadership and decision making is contrary to the fundamental principles of liberal democracies.
