Ultimately it is the government who benefits most by increasing the minimum wage as they collect higher taxes.
It would be better to raise the tax brackets so that lower earners pay even less tax
cost of living depends on the cost of goods & services. The cost of goods & services is directly linked to the labour cost (wages). Therefore if wages increase, it will increase the cost of goods and services. And on top of that businesses maintain their profit margin which is not a constant but a percentage to their cost. As a result to cover the cost of wages they have to increase the cost of goods and services. Automatically cost of living increases.

Rasing the minimum wage is inflationary so it will cause the viscious cycle to continue. Lowering the minimum wage will create a better pathway for the jobless to have the opportunity to work.
