Investment in public transport improves life for everyone (including people who don't use it because it takes people off the roads)

My experience with public transport in NZ, is it extremely poor, to the point of being unusable. There is a bus stop 15m from my front door, but the bus services are so frequently cancelled, or late, it's just not worth the effort, so I either walk, drive or uber.
My experience in Berlin with public transport was amazing. There is no reason to own a car for personal transport. Its affordable and it works.
An excellent reliable public transport system is our way foward to combat global warming and traffic congestion.
