We have the potential to be a powerhouse in the tech industry with our neutrality and global position. Currently our students are far worse off financially then those on the doll. Pushing allowance, and post graduate scholarships at least up to the minimum wage would stop the brain drain, and help accelerate this potential future.

I agree with the sentiment that studying should be encouraged. Student allowance has not increased with the overall cost of living and middle income parents cannot necessarily afford to support their adult children living away from home. Upping the minimum wage has happened several times over the past few years but another increase isn't necessarily going to stop the lure of overseas travel. It will stop small businesses from employing staff with not much experience however.
