shouldn't be based on parents earning because in most situations the uni student is not supported or it is not determined as part of the questioning as to what the support relationship is. who cares if your parents make $450k collectively, if you're not seeing a cent of it and haven't for the last 5 years, why should it determine what support you get to go out and do something for yourself.
