There shouldn't be more restrictions on student allowance since we live in a climate where costs are through the roof and it's hard enough to work part time as well as study. I lived with my mum who was a solo parent working as a nurse full time to try and support us as best as she could and I was working a minimum wage job to try and help out because of the hours it provided which covered most of the basics and not much after that. This was because Studylink deemed that my mum earned too much even though she's a nurse and I wasn't working at the time. This meant that I was in a constant state of stress during study and meant I couldn't give it my all worrying about money as well as thinking about dropping out to just work full time.
