I have no connection, need, want or desire to learn it and include it in my life, just like every other person I know. You must not force these things upon people because it has the reverse effect and has done more harm than good in the way that the govt has pushed it out. There is such an undercurrent of division that has been caused because of this.
To learn is to evolve. To choose not to learn a significant element (language) of the indigenous culture of New Zealand is one's choice of division from two languages important to NZ. When you choose only one, you are dividing yourself, and you choose not to evolve.
