I personally don’t agree with the death penalty. Only because sitting in jail for the rest of your life is bad enough, ending it wouldn’t teach any lessons.
Crime is a failing of community rather than being as simple as an individual choice. Death cannot reasonably be imposed on one individual for the failing of the community which forms the context of their life.
