If someone breaks into your house or is threatening you/ your family who are you going to call if there is not enough police or unarmed police?

Police need more money to pay the staff more for a higher standard of service. People feel valued when paid more. When nobody is willing to go into situations the police will turn up. The police help on all levels when a lot of people turn their back. The police keep us as safe as the y can and therefore they should not get less money but if anything get more

The NZ Police work well for well over 90% of situations and there is no need to defund them. That being said those officers who do break the law, especially in extreme cases (as we see in the US) should not be protected.

More funding for Police. Offending is higher than normal, especially within youth offending. More police, better pay for police.

Community Trust: Initiatives like the "Community Policing" strategy…  Read more

I am a cop. We are already over worked and under resourced. I know this because when I start work there is often over 20 111 calls that are still waiting to be attended. Some get over 100 hrs olds.
