I support Charter Schools that will educate children with needs that can't be met in public schools, but public schools should receive more funding.

Private Schools Should Be Allowed As Well As Private Property But Everything Else Should Never Be Privatized

No, and we should set a date by which all private schools need to become part of the public system.

I support charter schools, and we should also improve public schools and increase teachers wages

 @9D4TSBVanswered…1yr1Y

I agree with focusing on improving public schools and teachers wages, but also think we need more publicity funded schools with high teacher ratios for the really troubled kids who are dropping out and committing crimes/sinking into addictions and apathy, or are really disruptive in schools to the point other kids' education is being impacted as well as their own. We need a LOT of these to rescue the disengaged kids who are about to become a huge societal burden if they aren't turned around, and for the rest of the kids and teachers still trying to learn in regular public schools.

In general I think all schools should be run by the state and entirely separated from religion in particular. I also think we should avoid Elitist private schools like Eton College that produced Boris Johnson and others.

Maybe, if they are not-for-profit, or have a limit on profit/fair pricing for students, but we should focus on improving public schools and increasing teacher wages.

Yes but they should make it so them work with community’s to improve. Also have company’s on board to help them into job training befor Le they leave. Like building. Start doing basic skills for apprenticeships.

Generally, no but I can see that, if NZ does not reflect the Treaty of Waitangi adequately in education, charter schools could provide a healthier option.

 @8GL3QBTanswered…4yrs4Y

yes. i support charter schools but i believe our public school system needs a lot of work.

 @TravellingFOOTanswered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but we should focus on improving our public schools and increasing teachers wages

 @9CCDY7Panswered…2yrs2Y

Yes but I believe that it should be capped on how expensive they are, you should only be paying for boarding, not the education

Somewhere in the middle for me. I think there is a place for charter schools but also believe public school teachers are under-resourced and underpaid.

Schools should be a learning foundation for all students. The national standard of education should be tailored specifically for each students ability to learn. Each student will benefit from gaining experience beneficial to their own growth. That way no student is stuck on trying to ascend with every year that education is thrown at them. Instead they excell at their own pace, exceedingly quicker or extremely slow nonetheless they are able to benefit from the education system and find a suitable career without feeling left behind or having to fall back.

No, we should be supporting more alternative education Primary schools where main stream does not suit the child. Hands on schools, but with underlying standard curriculum.

Should parents be allowed to choose which school their child attends, even if it means the public funding is distributed unevenly?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

How might the presence of charter schools affect the community where you live, both positively and negatively?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

Do you think it’s fair for public school systems to compete with charter schools for funding, or does one naturally deserve more resources?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

If a charter school promised smaller class sizes but less funding for extracurricular activities, would that be a good trade-off for you?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

Do you think schools should be allowed to make a profit, or should education be seen as a public service that isn’t focused on money?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

How do you feel about the idea that some students have better educational opportunities because they can attend a charter school while others cannot?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

What factors would make you choose (or avoid) attending a charter school if given the chance?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

How do you think the quality of your education would change if your school was privately managed?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

Do you believe schools should be more like businesses, or should they remain under public control, and why?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

If charter schools result in higher test scores for students, does that mean our public education system should adopt similar methods?
