poison is not species specific, slow painful way for the animals to die. there would be more benefit in hiring teams of hunters to control animal population.

There are other options than POISON to help with pest control. especially a poison which goes on to kill other animals it wasn't intended for and gets into rivers etc. Its foolish to unleash a poison into NZ Nature where we dont know how far its reach may spread. Especially when the problem is man made.. we shouldnt punish our flora and fauna for that.
It clearly controls possum numbers and other pests from killing native birds and destroying native forests
If there was a more species/specific use of 1080 for rodents and species not utilized for human consumption I would support it but I don't think that's possible.
A vote for yes would be a complete disregard of the New Zealand ecology, and all of the work put in by DOC, crown research and volunteers.
