By only being in government for long times politicians end up being out of touch with the reality that every day Kiwis face. They are far too likely to be caught up in a web of "favors" they are owed or owe to others enabling more corruption the longer they are in office.
It's not that I disagree with that but these people have been in congress for soo long that they're severely out of touch with the majority of the country. They could move to advisory roles but it's honestly to the point where you could consider America a dictatorship run by congress, they're not voted in by the people the mean age is above 70 all the 'experience' in the world doesn't stop someone from being racist, classist and stuck in their ways it almost accentuates it. It's too much power not to have time limits on.
