We should not have the right to vote until we personally commit to this country and become a citizen
Rich peoples from overseas with little to no understanding of NZ politics, culture etc shouldn't have the ability to sway NZ elections.
Citizenship means this country is ours and only do we as citizens decide.
All others can leave and go elsewhere.

Its based on citizenship. If someone immigrated, they can vote once they have demonstrated commitment to the country.

If you are going to be in n- permanently you should be allowed to vote maybe after 5 years resident
@9FXYRN62yrs2Y
That's a fair point but until you're a permanent resident you shouldn't be entitled to vote. Your taxes are paid for the privilege of living here and using things that taxpayers contribute towards.

If they haven't livened in New Zealand long enough to be a citizen they wouldn't have lived here long enough to make a good judgment in voting.

The foreigners are not citizens of the country, which in my opinion means they should have no say in what happens in our country.
Foreigners benift from our Healthcare, education and infrastructure, so they should pay tax. But they don't know our history or story, so should not vote.
Paying taxes should not give you the right to vote. Being part of the community should give you the right to vote. eg becoming a NZ citizen
I feel that until a Foreigner becomes a legal citizen of New Zealand they should not have the right to vote.
I buy online from other countries, I pay tax on those purchases, I don't expect to be allowed to vote in those countries.
Yes they should but not right away they have to earn that right by staying in New Zealand for a while and paying taxes for a while
Naturalised citizens only should have the right to vote. If you want to decide on the direction of the country you must belong to one not to both.
If you’re not from here and you don’t have an understanding of Te Tiriti you don’t have a right to vote
You may move to another country to absorb the lifestyle that country provides but you can’t move there and start to control and have a say in the citizen voting. I believe that is up to the citizens of the country. Residents shouldn’t be able to vote
In that case, no one on benefits should be allowed to vote.
Its based on citizenship. If someone immigrated, they can vote once they have demonstrated commitment to the country.
