There is scientific evidence that each parent (father and mother) add a very specific element in a child's growth and development. Having two of one gender - though loving - doesn't meet the intrinsic needs of a child which can only come from the other parent.
Why should someone be more advantaged when adopting a child because of their current sexuality, its counter intuitive to punish someone for adopting a child.
