No, but the government should improve the screening process and add a quota for the number of muslim immigrants.

 @9FCFHRFanswered…1yr1Y

No - we should have systems in place to screen out potential terrorists from all people groups.

 @9FRWQB3answered…1yr1Y

Why just Muslim? Seems racist as the latest terrorist attack on NZ was a white non religious person.

 @9FQF2FSOpportunitiesanswered…1yr1Y

Our worst ever terrorist attack was from a white Australian who murdered innocent Muslims. We should scrutinize white immigrants to ensure that they aren't terrorists or actively fostering hate

 @8HSMN5Sanswered…4yrs4Y

no, but have enough information to classify weather they're involved in terrorist and or dangerous groups that could harm the well-being of our counrty.

 @9F8G4D2Te Pāti Māorianswered…1yr1Y

Only if the other immigrants are treated the same afterall those who have posed the most risks to Aotearoa have been French & Australian don't hide the facts.

 @9F4TZPHLabouranswered…1yr1Y

Yes and until government can fully support immigrant who come with a lot of trauma as we currently do not have the relevant resources to fully support them.

 @9DGD2DZLabouranswered…1yr1Y

If you’re going to screen immigrants for potential terrorists you need to screen every person not just certain cultures/ethnicities

 @9D4R8KTanswered…1yr1Y

No but they should require thorough checks if they are from a high risk country

 @9G5FKRManswered…1yr1Y

it depends since we cant just banned them just because of the high risk there might be people out there who need shelter and help

 @9G5FJJHanswered…1yr1Y

Dont think it’s appropriate to ban people from trying to make a better life for their families however they should be screened

 @9G4N9C9Labouranswered…1yr1Y

Government should have better processes in place to ensure weapons are kept out of the country & access to weapons (used in terror attacks) need to be more strict

 @9G4KJHWanswered…1yr1Y

No, because all Muslims are not terrorists. Banning a certain race/religion for terrorism because they are stereotyped as terrorists won't solve the terrorist problem. Any one could be a potential terrorist. Instead of banning just one race, there should be a screening programmes for all immigrants and even kiwis to find any potential terrorists and then go further from there.

 @9G4DLGWanswered…1yr1Y

if there is a suspicion of them being a terrorist or they have a concerning past I think you should ask additional questions

 @9G4CKWCanswered…1yr1Y

No, but it is important to be vigilant in paying attention to anyone at all who may be a threat to New Zealand

 @9G4C7K8answered…1yr1Y

No, we should not ban refugees coming into this country and "high-risk" country immigrants need to be screened and, monitored and report to the government/social service 3,6,9 months until clearance and integration in to the New Zealand population

 @9G2Y5W3answered…1yr1Y

It should be taken on what the background of the person applying is. Judged on each individual, not religion or country

 @9G25677answered…1yr1Y

No, but maybe further screening if from high risk countries/backgrounds... that goes for anyone, not just Muslims.

 @9FCZKCFanswered…1yr1Y

all people’s should be screened. more security should be added IF and only if, the terrorist attacks increase in danger and frequency

 @9FBSMPQanswered…1yr1Y

No, but our screening process should be as reliable as it realistically could be.

 @9FBFC64Nationalanswered…1yr1Y

We shouldn’t ban anyone but the screening process should be adequate to disallow potential territorial threats in so our country

 @9FB8NL9answered…1yr1Y

This is a racist question as last I checked it was an Australian who did the terrorist attack in NZ

 @9FB7SPHanswered…1yr1Y

The country does not to improve their screening for immigrants, but they shouldn't be banned until that takes place

 @9FB2H4Canswered…1yr1Y

 @9F9FZPXanswered…1yr1Y

 @9F9CTKHanswered…1yr1Y

The Government needs to have a better screening process and reserve the right to review and remove approval to settle in NZ if found to be connected to terrorism for the term of residence.

 @9F9CPGMMāorianswered…1yr1Y

No, because not all muslims are terrorist and it would be unfair on those because I believe in equal rights and equal lives

 @9F93LNJanswered…1yr1Y

No, banning based off of religion is unconstitutional. However candidates need to be properly screened before entry from higher risk countries. All immigrants should be properly screened from all countries.

 @9F8GTXPNationalanswered…1yr1Y

Immigrants from High risk countries should be strictly assessed with plenty of research and monitored when here

No, I would like the government to enforce structure policies and background checks. Everyone should get a chance to come here

 @9F7L423answered…1yr1Y

 @9F7G4FBNationalanswered…1yr1Y

 @9F7BNL4Greenanswered…1yr1Y

No, but I think there definitely needs to be a lot more work around improving the safety of our country as a whole, rather than simply focusing on Muslims or religions

 @9F6VHTCLabouranswered…1yr1Y

Everyone coming in to the country should have background checks regardless of who they are,not just muslims

 @9F6LB4LGreenanswered…1yr1Y

No, there should be a air tight screening process for all countries and ethnicities

 @9F5VHZLanswered…1yr1Y

Immigration needs to improve the quality of higher skilled people and induct different cultures into NZ with compusery cultural training/education

 @9F5N42KNationalanswered…1yr1Y

Not all immigrants are dangerous, but they turn out to be terrorists kick out smartly.

 @9F5HXTTGreenanswered…1yr1Y

 @9F5478YNationalfrom Uttaradit  answered…1yr1Y

No, but screen to ensure those who do not accept gender equality and democratic rights are permanently banned from entering the country

 @9F4WMWDNew Zealand Loyalanswered…1yr1Y

Why are you asking this. With all the monitoring you should know. No faith in any of this

 @9F4PYW3ACTanswered…1yr1Y

Only if we decide to screen every single person no matter what religion, race or creed.

 @9F4LNWJNew Zealand Firstanswered…1yr1Y

No but an enhanced screening process needs to be introduced and a fee paid to cover this within any application by a migrant

 @9F3RB9Ranswered…1yr1Y

No the Christchurch massacre was perpetrated by an Australian and warnings about him were ignored

 @9F3PSWXGreenanswered…1yr1Y

No, but residency should require re-education to join society for social norms, women and gay rights

 @9F3PR9Manswered…1yr1Y

No, but face & head covering should be removed for ID photos, court appearances & airport security.

 @9F37F6KLabouranswered…1yr1Y

Interview them, if we immeditely assume we could make people mad and create protests

 @9F37C75ACTanswered…1yr1Y

I think immigrants from every country should be screened for potential terrorists. Christchurch shooting was done by an Australian after all

 @9F2D3SWNationalanswered…1yr1Y

No, acquire better screening processes gradually but don't outright ban them from entering the country, they just require extra screening.

 @9F292QVGreenanswered…1yr1Y

It should be a ban on any immigrant with any form of class B or C drug conviction or any form of violence conviction

 @9F22SJ4Greenanswered…1yr1Y

This is racism and profiling a religion...do Christians get banned for entering a country due to potential terrorist risk? Ridiculous!!! Let the Muslims in. This is hate speech and a breach of discrimination under the UN treaties.

 @9F22DKMNationalanswered…1yr1Y

accept them but put a 5 year watch period where all their purchases and actions are monitored

 @9F224X4answered…1yr1Y

No and this question is racist. Our biggest terrorist attack ever was target towards Muslims

 @9DZZVJVGreenanswered…1yr1Y

No one should be barred from entering the country based on religion, but if there are any red flags on individuals where they have committed a violent crime, then there should be restrictions on their movements at a minimum

 @9DZZ3WCNew Zealand Firstanswered…1yr1Y

No, but improve screening process, Some Countries in Europe there are no go zones because of violence coming from immigrants towards the local population.

 @9DZTZ7YACTanswered…1yr1Y

All immigrants should go through a screening process but people shouldn't be banned based on religion or ethnicity because a terrorist could come from anywhere

 @9DZ6MNKNationalanswered…1yr1Y

Nobody should be allowed to enter the country until they have been thoroughly vetted.

 @9DZ3B9Canswered…1yr1Y

We shouldn't be banning immigration based on religion or being from a high risk country. But we should consider slowing it down until we get better screening processes and we should give priority to people with needed qualifications (like doctors).

 @9DZ2SYQNew Zealand Firstanswered…1yr1Y

No, but all immigrants should have background checks before entering the country

 @9DY7ZJXanswered…1yr1Y

Terrorism is not linked to religion. This would not have prevented the terrorist attack in Christchurch.

 @9DY6NFHanswered…1yr1Y

No but we should take it into account and screen more carefully based on all religious/political views

 @9DY67SBFreedoms New Zealandanswered…1yr1Y

Last terrorist was a European in NZ. Actually killed 50 Muslims. Screen terrorist in general not race or cultural specific

 @9DXXDYJLabouranswered…1yr1Y

We should not be banning a religion, however, screening for terrorists should be improved.
