There should be more bursary, funding, scholarship allowances based on academic achievement
@9DB48DX2yrs2Y
Think the first year fees free should be changed to Year 3 - too many go for the first year and then drop out.
@9D7P5QG2yrs2Y
yes, but the tertiary education system needs to be overhauled.
@9D7C4TB2yrs2Y
No. It can be unfair when a separated parents wage is included and not the step parents wage who is paying for the child.
@9D5XGWG2yrs2Y
Yes, in courses that lead to employment in areas that NZ needs in future (and perhaps bond for a period of time).
@97ZQ89R2yrs2Y
No, but significantly decrease fees, increase entry requirements and encourage other means of higher education such as apprenticeships

Maybe the last year is free. This way you know you have committed students that are not milking the system. And current fees are too high
@8DCCR3D5yrs5Y
They should only make the last year free
No but review the structure. Student allowance should be available to all students regardless of their parents income - this is a downfall of the current scheme
@9BDGTZV2yrs2Y
No but more money should be spent to reduce tuition costs
@8HM356B4yrs4Y
Yes , unless dropped out or failed
@8GF8VY74yrs4Y
Yes but must pass entrance exam and be bonded to Nz
@8D7JMPP5yrs5Y
