Student loans should cover full cost of university hall accommodation. On qualifying should be bonded to stay in NZ for min 5 yrs then gets paid off
should be subsidised for all students like it was when I was in Secondary School. We could go to university and get paid a student allowance with minimal cost to the student. It's no wonder students go overseas with such a huge burden to pay back for the cost of a degree.
Yes - but free for NZ born students only.
Yes - upon completion of qualifications within specified timeframe and performance.
The government has the first year free when it should be the last year, help out those that have put the hard work in.
The last year of tuition should be free upon completion of degree or diploma

Third year of first degree should be free - many students go to uni for the experience and waste a lot of time and money before dropping out. 2nd and 3rd year students are more serious about their studies.

No, it should be given fee concessions after the first year to students who are scoring certain minimum grades

Possibly lower but not entirely drop. There should be a remodel of the current tertiary education system to allow for students to have time to work towards paying for their education, as many students currently do not have time to work aswell as study therefore increasing their debt and stress.
No but more tax breaks for those who stay in nz. Eg doctors who stay and work in rural areas for up to 5 years get large amounts removed from their bill

Yes, as long as the student completes the tertiary qualification and uses it
