Access to regular mental health support and career guidance meetings should be mandatory in order to motivate and inspire instead of a system of scolding and judgement. living essentials and expenses such as rent, and power should be provided directly to the individuals intended recipient and an allowance amount within reason should be provided to cover miscellaneous needs such as travel and food. L>L Persönliche AntwortAs technology gets more and more advanced, it performs more and more of the tasks that were once performed by people in their jobs. Effectively taking jobs. In the current system this is a BAD thing. If people don’t have the jobs to earn the money to buy the things that the robots are making, everyone loses. The business cannot sell their goods, the people don't have the purchasing power to buy said goods. I think we need a source of income that is separate from and additional to wages and salaries. I would look at two things: 1: A “National Dividend” - a yearly dividend paid out to all citizens. Money put into circulation according to the rate of production and as the needs to distribution dictate. This is not payment for a job done, but a dividend to each individual for his share in a common capital. A share in the blood sweat and tears of our ancestors as the built and developed this nation, and as their heirs, we are entitled to a share of the results of their labours. 2: A “Universal Basic Income” - a weekly amount given to each citizen, from birth. There will come the cry of “How do we pay for this”, and this is a fair question. The Reserve Bank of New Zealand has the power to create debt free real money, as it does when notes and coins are minted. This money is free and clear of any debt, unlike the money created by private banks at the point of creating a loan. It is important that these monies do not come from tax revenue, but rather is created by a State owned “National Monetary Authority” (or some such regulatory body), maybe even the Reserve Bank itself. Lets say, for arguments sake each person received a UBI of $500 per week, or maybe per month(?) from birth. For a family of four, Dad, Mum and two kids, this would mean a weekly/monthly income of $1500. No, my maths isn't faulty, but rather each childs $500 is split. $250 goes to the parents to help them to pay for the various expenses that each child incurs and $250 is set aside into a bank account (Kiwisaver or s |
