Once you control for personal choice and the behavioural differences between men and women, the "gender pay gap" reduces to insignificance. There is a gender EARNINGS gap, not a gender PAY gap.
To pay people differently absed on gender, race, reliogious beliefs, sexuality or marrital status is ILLIGAL. If a gender pay gap was so obvious, why aren't more buisnesses facing legislative consequences.
The study in New Zealand that discusses the gender pay gap was commissioned by the Ministry for Women. I'm sorry, but that just screams conflict of interest, so I'm not going to take it seriously.
