Authorities in Ukraine, with support from French police and Europol, have arrested the suspected administrator of XSS.is, one of the largest and most influential Russian-speaking cybercrime forums.
The forum, which boasted over 50,000 users, served as a key marketplace for stolen data, hacking tools, and illicit services. The arrest follows a four-year international investigation, during which French authorities wiretapped servers and gathered evidence of extensive cybercriminal activity. The suspect is accused of facilitating ransomware attacks and generating at least $7 million in illicit profits.
This operation marks a significant blow to the global cybercrime ecosystem.
