How would your daily life change if public transport was greatly improved and made more accessible?

Finally a good focus from the Green Party! My daily life, and that of many, would be HUGELY improved via good public transport (as opposed to BS cycling lanes) - more trains, more busses, and FREE (or at least massively subsidised). The government should not be try to get revenue streams from students and old people using public transport.
