Yes. If we had focused on global cooperation NZ wouldn't be so nuclear free. A democracy is a two way street of compromises between the government and the people. Global cooperation is irrelevant.

I sort of agree only because lots of countries worry about their reputation around the globe rather than focusing on their citizens who are struggling in poverty or swimming in pollution. I think its important to prioritise your own citizens because that is the governments overall job, to take care of the country, not someone elses.

No, there should be an obviously equal balance between the well-being of the citizens and its country.

yes I think New Zealand should prioritise their own countries citizens first because people around the globe have their own countries to provide for their well-being

Yes because I have seen how so many people have gone from loving this country and thriving to feeling so much anger and hatred and struggling to survive. New Zealand has dropped in people’s estimations both within the country and abroad. It’s so sad to see. So many have left because of this. Without prioritising our own citizens there will be none left to prioritise.

Yes, that's what governments exist for. If they want to support others thats great but their own people should be the priority.

Yes. A government is selected by its citizens and therefore should owe an ultimate duty to those who give it power. If a government cannot ensure a high standard of living for its own citizens, it has no place to look after those outside its dominion.

I think it is important for a country to prioritize its citizens but not exclude global cooperation as a whole. if your country is in poverty you cannot help another country with the same problem, therefore it is important to help your own country before others.

 @9K3Z9QPanswered…10mos10MO

Yes absolutely I do because our country always should come first and be our first priority

Yes, but some countries need help more than our own citizens such as the countries who have unrightfully been put through a genocide.

 @9JW7TZJanswered…11mos11MO

Yes it's very important to prioritize it's own citizens as we don't know who is a terriost and who is not, it's hard to trust immagrants

Yes, it's very important because of terrorism that took place in Christchurch that year, we shouldn't trust an immigrant, they have to be genuine & honest about why they're in the country
