You can’t even buy alcohol under 18 how is it okay for a child to be allowed to permanently change their body for ever
Going on hormone blockers is enough to at least stop these children from committing suicide, with a guardians consent, or a trusted advisor, these kids should be allowed to be in the bodies they most align with, just like the Cis kids their age. If someone can get a tattoo, a piercing, or even cosmetic surgery with their parents consent, it should be no different for gender affirming care.
If a child has ovarian cancer they should be able to consent to removing their ovaries. Gender dysphoria is a health risk that can lead to suicide and gender affirming care decreases this health risk. It's the same as any other illness. 99% of cases children only get puberty blockers anyway, these do not permanently change the body just gives time to decide. Actual surgery is extremely rare.

Bodies and Brains need time to develop - let them be children and experience growth, puberty and people
We need to better teach our children to love themselves, celebrating differences instead of superficially, and medically, changing them.
People under the age of 18 are still majorly developing mentally. A huge array of mental factors can cause gender dysmorphia along with a loss of self identity. A decision made before 18 years of age will highly likely be regretted in years to come once further matured.

Brain hasn't fully developed. Let's not allow children to drastically change there physical state, with long-term implications on there psyche due to a tiny percentage of the population with radical woke midset infecting our youth.

Ban for anyone under 18 - they have no idea. Adults can do what they want but should not be funded for surgeries or hormones.
Young people are not mature enough to make life altering decisions. Which could have serious consequences down the road.
Most children with body dysmorphia feel more comfortable in their bodies after puberty and do not wish to change their gender anymore.
As the vast majority of people in their early teens identifying as trans end up deciding they’re not trans after all, allowing these people treatment is fraught. If we don’t think young people know what they’re doing when committing crimes why would we trust them to know their current gender. If we allow puberty blockers or surgery, we must also provide them with euthanasia drugs for when they inevitably come to their senses.
If you were born with male or female chromosomes you should stay that way as that is what you were at birth
Most people don't actually know what their chromosomes are. They're more complicated than we might think - most people have either XX or XY but there are other possibilities. Also, some people have male genitalia despite "female" chromosomes or vice versa. Gender and sex is biologically a lot more complicated than we think. There is even some evidence that transgender identity is a biological feature of the brain.
there are 2% people who may de-transition and there are 98% people who transition and don’t de-transition and proven that brings slef-esteem and improves there Hauora
Although the brain develops way beyond 18, there needs to be some minimum age limit here, below that, as a legal child, life changing decisions should not be allowed to be made

Children are developing and therefore need to be an adult before they have the ability to have this choice to change gender
A minor should not be able to make life changing irreversible biological potentially harmful decisions.
We are born male or female I don't believe parents are being responsible when they allow/encourage their children to choose "what" they want to be.
People change a lot through their adolescent years. Nothings certain in life but gender transition is.
Gender dysphoria in an adolescent, developing mind is poorly understood. I don't believe that taking life altering action in a young person that hasn't completed developing is wise and often results in lifelong regret and irreversible harm. This is a relatively new phenomenon that has not been appropriately researched and is heavily influenced by social pressure.
Allot of people regret the decision of gender change later in life and it makes much more sense for the age to be 18 because that's when you become an adult in NZ.
Ban only gender reassignment surgeries for everyone. I’m pro life when it comes with having children.

Under 18 year olds don't know who they are. How can they make a decision that will permanently affect their bodies
You change your mind about things throughout your whole life. For big decisions give it time, good solid critical thought and be kind to yourself.
Children under the age of 18 can be easily persuaded and can go through many phases and not understand the idea that this surgery is for life even if they change their minds a month or a year or a decade down the line whereas I feel that an adult will be able to not rush and really think about this procedure and are more inclined to make the right decision

For you clowns who think transitioning is all A ok, kids can’t even drive under 18? Can’t vote, can’t buy alcohol, can’t get tattoos? But you can switch your gender, get real. Why do you have to give them hormones? The child thinks it’s a girl, let him pretend to be a girl. You don’t have to chemically castrate that child’s body. You say it’s not a choice? That’s ridiculous of course it’s a choice. And I feel sorry for the young girls who are just in a phase of their childhood, when the body and mind is still growing and learning,… Read more

Look at the data on people wellbeing after transitioning. People are not happier or contributing to society in a positive way
