Yes, whomever competes in athletic events should be no business of the government.

 @9DYXJQBACTanswered…1yr1Y

No, but incentivise sporting organizations to offer new leagues or competitions that cater to transgender athletes

 @9DGD5VCanswered…1yr1Y

No, transgender athletes should have their own categories to compete against othersbin similar positions

 @9D9KNN6ACTanswered…1yr1Y

No. Sex is not assigned at birth for goodness sake, it is observed and recorded. Do you think the doctor is a magical wizard..?

 @9YHR9Y8from Ontario  answered…3wks3W

Yes, and abolish all sex divided competition categories. The mightiest shall reign supreme! Mwahahahaha! (I am not an athlete.)

 @9S3Q7Q2answered…4mos4MO

Hear me out, make a new section dedicated to these athletes similar to the men's and women's section, this avoids almost all complications

 @9RWHKMKanswered…4mos4MO

In some instances - yes, in some - no. In boxing and combat sports it creates additional risk of serious injury and death for example.

 @9G738S6answered…1yr1Y

If they have gone through puberty as their birth gender, this could create physical advantages/disadvantages depending on the sport.

 @9G6YBQCACTanswered…1yr1Y

No, but open to exceptions when it comes to children below a certain age or in potential sports that lack any meaningful sex advantages.

 @9G6PC5G answered…1yr1Y

Trans woman and trans men should have their own division Meaning trans woman compete against trans woman Trans men compete against trans men

 @9G5QXZ9answered…1yr1Y

I think more discussion needs to be had around this. I am not at all opposed to transgender athletes competing, but it needs to be fair to all participants.

 @9G5P3N4 answered…1yr1Y

I think there should be sports catered towards trans athletes. The issue with that though is that there won’t be enough trans athletes, adding another sports section may be difficult and it may come across as discriminatory

 @9G4F754answered…1yr1Y

A separate trans category maybe, or checking the hormones are the same as those in the category they compete in.

 @9G45JKSanswered…1yr1Y

Yes, only in competitions that are for identified as such. Male and female competitions should be birth sex.

 @9G34RS5answered…1yr1Y

No, there should be the option to compete against others of the same gender identity (eg, FTM Transgender people compete against each other)

 @9DZWKQXNationalanswered…1yr1Y

No, unless the sport is willing to provide an ‘open’ category allowing all genders to compete against each other.

 @9DZ2Q8RGreenanswered…1yr1Y

No, they should still have the right to compete in a fair race, but in their own category where their hormone levels are equivalent to one another.

 @9DYVGHWanswered…1yr1Y

A class should be created to allow transgender athletes to compete in their identified genders. That is to say until there is population enough to support a heat/division in their own rights, a transgender woman could compete in the womens category, but positioning and ranking would be against other transgender women athletes and visa versa. In my view this is similar to the para-athletes where imparements are moderated for each race to ensure even playing field, for transgender women my belief is they have an potential physical advantage over cis women, and transgender male would have a disadvantage over cis male, the class system would ensure even playing fields for all athletes (cis and trans of both genders) and in my view promote inclusion for all.

 @9DYQR48answered…1yr1Y

They should compete with other transgender athletes who were the same assigned gender as them.

 @9DY5Z3Manswered…1yr1Y

Yes, but only if their hormone levels align with those of the biological sex

 @9DXY8YFGreenanswered…1yr1Y

Yes, but I think there should be mixed gender categories for most if not all sports anyway

 @9DXV838answered…1yr1Y

I believe this should be a seperate class providing fairness in physical aspects

 @9DWZNQM answered…1yr1Y

 @9DWDT53Greenanswered…1yr1Y

Depends on if the trans person has gone through their biological gender puberty. A trans woman who went through male growth spurts and gained male physical attributes has an advantage over biological woman in my opinion. I think there should be a separate category for trans athletes to compete in just as we have woman's sports and men's sports, we will have trans sports. I think it's just a more fair system.

 @9DW5MR5answered…1yr1Y

FtM athletes should be able to compete with men, but MtF athletes should not.

 @9DVGKMKGreenanswered…1yr1Y

no, create another category, we should not take away the reward for the talent given at birth

 @9DV8ZGYOpportunitiesanswered…1yr1Y

Yes, in open categories of competition where all genders are permitted.

 @9DSH8DXanswered…1yr1Y

No there should be a seperate transgender sports team competing like for like! Just like disabled people!

 @9DS37LYanswered…1yr1Y

Yes, and sports should be re-arranged into classes based on size and strength ratios instead of gender.

 @9DRYWK9answered…1yr1Y

No, have a trans category system or yes, but say if the transgender person got gold, the real woman who comes in second also gets gold

 @9DRX7MWanswered…1yr1Y

 @9DPKXC9Greenanswered…1yr1Y

Yes, but ultimately I think sport should be broken up into different skill levels, not by gender

 @9DMFB3Ranswered…1yr1Y

Add a trans competition for relevant competition (ie sports where the governing body has decided that the advantage is too great).

 @9DLJ97Ranswered…1yr1Y

 @9DKCY5Lanswered…1yr1Y

Transgender athletes should be competing against other transgender athletes in order to give the most fair and nonbiased level of competitive edge

 @9DK667Manswered…1yr1Y

It depends on whether they transitions pre or post-puberty - the muscle fibres i post-puberty transitioning FtM people are signficantly higher, as well as calcium and creatine stores.

 @9DG93CDanswered…1yr1Y

Yes but only in sports where male development does not provide an inherent advantage (power sports, contact sports, etc)

 @9DH83V3Labouranswered…1yr1Y

 @9DH7QQKanswered…1yr1Y

Yes, provided there is still a pathway for natural athletes to compete against fair competition

 @9DGKW6YNationalanswered…1yr1Y

Yes, if your birth gender is female and you want to compete in a male event. No, if your birth gender is male and you want to compete in a female event.

 @9DGBC75answered…1yr1Y

No, but perhaps make their own space for them to recognise they may not meet standard hormone levels for either natural born men/women but allowing competition within those with similar physical/ hormonal capabilities

 @9DFDPSVanswered…1yr1Y

Transgender people have a greater difference in structural, physiological and hormonal range compared to those who align with their respective biological sex. With this in mind, adding an open section to all sports can allow for these differences and hold space for non-binary folks.

 @9DF8H58answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but depends on their weight, size and ability who competes against who in one on one events.

 @9DD5BB2answered…1yr1Y

They should have their own competition free from non transgender athletes

 @9DC5DRPanswered…1yr1Y

No, instead have a category for biological woman as well as an open category for everyone else

 @9D9DG7XOpportunitiesanswered…1yr1Y

People who have taken or naturally produce testosterone in one division, everyone else in the other one.

 @9D929WROpportunitiesanswered…1yr1Y

Yes, but only in the male/"open" category. Transgender women that benefitted from early life male hormones have too much advantage over cisgender women.

 @9D8HGR7Opportunitiesanswered…1yr1Y

They should be allowed to compete in sport at a community level in the gender they choose but in high performance sport they should compete in the sex assigned at birth

 @9D6YH64answered…1yr1Y

Depends on the sport, but transgender females should not compete with other females in purely physical sports such as swimming etc.

 @9D5SBMKanswered…1yr1Y

No, males should not compete in women's sports but women may compete in men's sports if they wish. Sex is not "assigned at birth."

 @9D5H56RLabouranswered…1yr1Y

Yes, but only if their physique and hormone levels are in line with others competing in their gender category.

 @9D4TSBVanswered…1yr1Y

Only if they did not go through puberty as the gender assigned at birth or are competing in something where physical size and strength are less important, e.g. shooting, equestrian which are often mixed sex competitions anyway. Absolutely should not be allowed to compete in a strength related sport such as swimming, running or weight lifting if they have previously competed at a high level (regional or national) as a teenager or older in that same sport under the gender assigned at birth.

 @9D4B98FGreenanswered…1yr1Y

 @9BZCRKWanswered…2yrs2Y

Yes, if it is scientifically proven through research that the biologies between the trans-gender and born-gender people are equal enough to provide a fair game.

 @9N38QXNanswered…6mos6MO

No. A female born as a male has an unfair physical advantage. Would you ever see a boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jacinda Ardern? No. Wake up

 @9GZNKPRanswered…1yr1Y

I believe that they shouldnt be able to compete because when it comes to sports they should play in/against their assigned sex at birth because men grow differently from women and do have an advantage so it would be unfair if a man competed in a womens sport.

 @9GH833L answered…1yr1Y

Create a new category for transgender athletes. Many transgender people I’ve spoken to support this. More sport for people to watch. Everyone wins.

 @9G8LHS4from Leiria  answered…1yr1Y

Make a new league where only trans compete, a Male to female league and a female to male league, so 4 leagues total

 @9FYGHBZanswered…1yr1Y

it should be dependent on the sport and what it involves. as well as what the stakes are for winning .

 @9FWWHS6New Zealand Loyalanswered…1yr1Y

No- it’s a scientific fact that male muscle mass differs greatly from female muscle mass no matter how one may feel.

 @9FWWYTGMāorianswered…1yr1Y

No, but seperate categories need to be implemented for each sexual orientation to compete against each other.

 @9FWWYP5Greenanswered…1yr1Y

No, but seperate competitive categories need to be made for different sexual oreintations to compete against one another.
