We have a tiny impact on the environment, we should be responsible but not tank the economy in the process.

Climate change will directly affect large portions of our island community. Whole districts will have to leave their homes forever. Everything we do from now on must have overtones of addressing climate change if we are to hand out descendants a livable environment, let alone the bountiful and beautiful one we were gifted with.

Public transportation needs to meet the need, this being fast, reliable and cheap. Without meeting these needs it's a waste of time and money to invest in a solution. Environmentally friendly or not.

We are spending too much on public transport at the moment, particularly in Auckland, as there aren’t many who take it as it is unreliable. There are brand new bus lanes that have added to normal car traffic due to losing road lanes and I have never seen a bus with more than 4 people on it in the bus lane.
