Building up instead of out is ugly and not New Zealand. Should be limited to specific areas and local councils should ask the community for consent to build 6 houses on a section which used to have 1

Local council land was land stolen from Maori,. Yes if the stolen Maori land be developed to house maori.

Building up instead of out is simply better for sustainability, traffic, green spaces, and affordability.

Additional land made available for housing or commerce will decrease the availability of arable land for food production.

Allowing immigration increases economic growth and is good for our economy. Higher taxes. Which can then be used for other government initiatives and free up land for more housing and allowing others to get ahead.

This is a matter of personal value, to some land is not important to others it is. We can’t create a blanket rule on property size and the infrastructure.
