Yes but only for basic work and set to a threshold
Discounted dental care based on income
@9DN5YPH1yr1Y
Yes, and more steps should be taken to assure less dental care is needed.
@9DF8H581yr1Y
Yes, but it should be subsidised by the wealthiest
@9DD47782yrs2Y
Total gebrek care free for children including orthodontic care. Subsidised for adults that have taken regular dental care.
Maybe, better to focus on prevention. Like reducing sugary drinks.
Yes, but only up to the age of 19
@9D5T53N2yrs2Y
Yes, for children, senior citizens and those on lower incomes. Prices for general oral care should be reduced.
Make it free, therefore dictate more off other lifestyles
@9D4TSBV2yrs2Y
Yes but means test it and subsidize on a sliding scale for working or wealthy retired adults.
@9G28S7D1yr1Y
Up to the age of 21 . Most detrimental health occurs at youth so if dental care is free for all children and youth this should prevent most problems. Other than that elderly care and free emergency dental care.
Yes, but it must be capped
Subsidised, not universal.
@9F89R6Z1yr1Y
Yes, I think everyone should be entitled to subsidised dental care. Health care is important
@9DQVXN31yr1Y
Only for those under an income threshold
Equitable care would be priority
I want to agree but where does the funding come from and at what cost will this be to other aspects of our healthcare? Maybe subsiding dental care instead of making it free. This puts some of the responsibility back on the public. Taxing products containing sugar is a wiser option as sugar is the culprit in many cases.
Yes but means tested, partial payment required (similar to current doctors fee, Acc surcharges). Could be funded as an additional levy on income simular to ACC for working people. Such a levy could be compulsory medical/dental insurance based on gross income to determine levy amount.
@9FPG44R1yr1Y
Yes, access to all, subsidised by the govt
@9FKCQGG1yr1Y
For those who can’t afford it currently and have associated problems, yes.
@9FJHV7ZNew Conservative 1yr1Y
Yes, it is part of medical care.
No this is ridiculous considering the current budget deficit
@9FGSQDH1yr1Y
Yes with a limit..eg $500 annually per person
@9FGNJ381yr1Y
aliens can do there own dental care
Only if there is evidence they’ve been caring for their dental health over the past 3 - 5 years prior
@9FCZ9S61yr1Y
I think it should be up till 21 instead of 18.
Only for school aged kids
No, this will cost the taxpayer too much money which defeats its purpose..
Only for community service card holders and children
Yes for under 16s and those receiving welfare.
Yes, but only for children under 18
Yes, but too expensive and infeasible
@9DVBLND 1yr1Y
Yes for children and in cases of hardship
For Under 18's over 65's and all those on benefits.
@9DBMSK22yrs2Y
Free for up to 29 years and over 60.
@9DBK2BK2yrs2Y
No, we're funding too much from taxes - you're breaking taxpayers!
@8H7KR7Q4yrs4Y
All healthcare including dental should be free
@9FQF8RH1yr1Y
Subsidised instead of free and with some limits
@9DW6CZV1yr1Y
Children should be free rest should be means tested
@9DRXV7H1yr1Y
Yes. The govt takes enough tax from us that they should. Or, give us a $500 tax rebate for dental care.
@9D8FVKF2yrs2Y
Yes but with limitations. For example free up to age 25, then free check ups. Subsequent dental work subsidised depending on income. Cosmetic work not subsidised.
Yes, dental care should be funded/subsidised by the government.
Yes but only for children and means tested for others
@9FMDNG21yr1Y
@9CHH8FG2yrs2Y
I think this would be nationally beneficial, but not include fluridation of water - which is toxic.
@95KSND52yrs2Y
Yes, but subsidised for those on a lower income, free for children, not free for all, so it does not cost as much
@8XWJX9R3yrs3Y
Yes but not for braces unless non cosmetic
@8TJZWRK4yrs4Y
Have a partial govt subsidy for basic dental for all, and free comprehensive dental care for children and seniors
@8PPV8TP4yrs4Y
People should be assisted in higher expense dental procedures
@8HYQWXQ4yrs4Y
Yes but only for standard dental care - not cosmetic
@8HNV42N4yrs4Y
Yes, for children up to 18 and people over 65
@8HHBWY84yrs4Y
They should regulate the price of treatments as in other countries
@8H7MGBN4yrs4Y
The rich should pay the current prices or more seen as they would need less treatment being able to access prevention in a way. The medium & low income prices should decrease severely and each dentist provide a certain amount of free care per year pro bono work for those that need it.
@8GRN6384yrs4Y
No. But provide some funding . It is impossible to have free dental care for everyone
@8G3WPM64yrs4Y
No, but it should be heavily funded
@8FRZRJS4yrs4Y
Offer private dental insurance
@8FJZLSM4yrs4Y
there should be a subsidy up to 20 years and $1000 cap on WINZ help
@8DZXXT24yrs4Y
Yes but should be cheaper
@8D9Y27V4yrs4Y
yes but only for citizens
@8CZG8394yrs4Y
yes but only as part of state system - not private
@8CXBR9G4yrs4Y
Yes, with an annual limit
@8CTBSSM4yrs4Y
I think it should be subsidised a lot more to be more affordable. Apart from cosmetic dentistry.
@8CT673B4yrs4Y
Yes, and during debates/interviews all contenders should be asked this question. If they say no, they should be asked why are healthy teeth not considered part of a "healthy human body?"
@8CM7G5M4yrs4Y
Happy with the current care
No, Subsided care will be better.
@9CV34WQOpportunities2yrs2Y
Yes to at least a basic level (i.e. checkups, basic procedures such as fillings)
Yes but with limits. No cosmetic work.
@9CHGZM2DemocracyNZ2yrs2Y
Yes, but only for those earning under median income
Remove fizzy drink for kids
@9CC8X8W2yrs2Y
Subsidised dental care for children and community service card holders
@9C2K3PS2yrs2Y
Yes, for children and seniors, but also on case-by-case basis. If someone requires life changing dental surgery, there should be a way to access this.
@9BYMZ4R2yrs2Y
Yes, happy to see a small tax increase to support this.
@9BW99982yrs2Y
only for normal not for cosmetic
@992LGLW2yrs2Y
Only if born here or pay taxes
@98T4NYK2yrs2Y
@98PXPCQ2yrs2Y
Dental health care by new Zealand government and under surveillance part of Mandated by health care providers inc
@966D3WX2yrs2Y
Not at this time. The country cannot afford it just now.
@8GX36BZ4yrs4Y
Yes, basic dental treatment to maintain healthy teeth and not cosmetic dental care up to the age of 18
@8GKV3B34yrs4Y
