Should there be more or less privatisation of hospital and healthcare services?

Public systems need more work to improve their current state

I think there should be slightly less privatisation of health care but more government funding as good health care provision is essential for a stable productive society.

i beleieve people with the money to do so should have the option of private practise but allow substantial services for those who do not as it is against human rights to make money off people who have little money.

Primary healthcare should be public and free with tertiary healthcare privatised and subsidised

Private health care should be more widespread but also more affordable. This would lessen the burden on the public health system

There should be more affordable decent Healthcare. Making health insurance available through employers will help access better health services. Currently what we have is a dismal failure and an embarrassment to the country

Visa applicants should be required to pay for health insurance before approval to enter the country starting the day of arrival, so government funding and healthcare is provided to permanent residents and citizens only. There should be more hospitals and healthcare facilities with the option for public hospitals to refer patients on to private if overflowing with some partial pay by patients if they accept.

Satisfied with the current system as a minimum and the government should increase funding.

The health system needs to be totally replaced wait times are too long for people suffering with every day chronic illnesses and mental health issues

If you want a private hospital experience you should be able to have access without the pubic ones being reduced

Pay doctors more and make it accessible for everyone :D

We need more specialist doctors and nurses, as the ones we have are in the private and public sector causing longer delays for those whom are on a waiting list.

More, allowing the wealthy an alternative to public ED would reduce wait times for everyone.

We should all pay a Healthcare tax (a bit like kiwisaver) and build more hospitals and provide more services. And encourage more young people to become doctors etc by subsiding the study and providing incentives.

Privatisation is important, however there should be better funding for public healthcare for those that really can't afford urgent care.

Provide privat4 options for those who want them. Make it easier for private hospitals to operate/be created so those who choose to can use them. Public care is critical and should not be abolished.

people coming into the country should have to pay for health care as we do abroad, acc should be revised so private medical insurers cover accidents where companies have been negligent, ie cost of
medical care to recovery, a general revision of pharmac and the whole system

I am satisfied with the now system

The ability of medical specialists to self-refer between the public and private sectors should be removed. This would be anti-competitive behaviour in any other industry.
