I think the whole ordeal is ridiculous. Look at international statistics where people are suing and suffering due to doctors on the "woke train" who have allowed underage patients or allowing those without a psychological examinations to make decisions based on how they feel that week.

I completely agree, it is ridiculous to have someone be able to access valuable health care in order to transition to a male or female because they FEEL that way. It's a mental health issue.

It's interesting to view this issue from a mental health perspective. It's important to know that the World Health Organization no longer classifies being transgender as a mental disorder, it's considered a condition related to sexual health. Many medical professionals agree that gender dysphoria, the distress a person experiences as a result of the sex and gender they were assigned at birth, is a serious issue that can be alleviated with gender-transition treatments.

An example is a study from the American Academy of Pediatrics which showed that access to puberty blockers dur…  Read more

I dont think people should be transitioned at all, I think the WHO no longer viewing this as a Mental health issue is due to modern politics and political correctness.

There mere fact that a large amount of individuals who identify as transgender also have higher suicidal tendency or require a puberty blocker illustrates to me that it is still a mental health issue, people who have a disconnect from their mental reality and physical reality (other than those who are truly intersex) should not be treated with life altering drugs, certainly not from a young age or taken to with a scalpel as thi…  Read more

While it's true that there have been a few legal cases related to this issue, it's important to remember that they represent a very small fraction of the people who undergo these treatments. For instance, the Swedish study often cited actually shows a decline in mental health issues post-transition. Additionally, professional medical organizations like the American Academy of Pediatrics support the use of puberty blockers and hormone therapy for adolescents, following thorough assessment and counseling. They argue that these treatments can significantly reduce distress and improve psychological well-being.

What do you think about professional medical organizations' stance on this matter? How would you suggest we balance the potential benefits of these treatments with the concerns you've raised?

It hasn't need around long enough to gather data on if it actually saves lives or improves people's mental health in the long term and kids can't legally consent

 @9FP2YJPNationaldisagreed…8mos8MO

Under the age of 18 any gender treatments should be illegal. Under 25 the frontal lobe is not fully developed and so many people regret transitioning. Parent consent or not under 18 no child should be allowed to transition

 @9FN5DNCNationaldisagreed…8mos8MO

I don't feel anyone under 18 years old should be able to make that decision as many tend to change their minds just because they went through a phase.

 @9G5HJK6disagreed…7mos7MO

Much more research needs to be put into puberty blockers. And a LOT more emphasis should be put on mental health therapy before any physical 'solutions' are applied. Particularly to young people.

 @9G36RHSdisagreed…7mos7MO

Gender dysmorphia is highly complex, especially in adolescents. A lot can change for teens and there are so many factors at work that life altering decisions should be delayed till at least 18.

 @9G5MLKMdisagreed…7mos7MO

Stop throwing transgender issues into childrens faces and fear mongering them into thinking they might change or want to change. It just makes them confused.

 @9G6HBXYNationaldisagreed…7mos7MO

no, the frontal lobe is not fully developed, puberty blockers are the exact same drugs given to sex offenders to chemically castrate them. this is child abuse

 @9FM3373disagreed…8mos8MO

No such thing as a change of sex. You are either male or female and no treatments will change that fact.

 @9FKD5HXNationaldisagreed…8mos8MO

Until you are 18, there shouldn’t be support for this. Too much encouragement to make big decisions and procedures at such a young age.

 @9G72NVHVision NZ disagreed…7mos7MO

gender identity is should not be enforced or accepted if you are a biological male you are a man and same with being born a women. In my eyes God made you a man or female there is no in-between.

 @9G6MHKMdisagreed…7mos7MO

No. In NZ when you turn 18 apparently you’re an adult, so you can buy alcohol, smokes etc… In America, that age is 21. So you shouldn’t be able to make any decisions that could have potential repercussions on your life before that age.

 @9FZ2PHXdisagreed…7mos7MO

Children are too young to comprehend the irreversible repercussions of puberty blockers and hormone therapy. Resorted to these measures runs the risk of overlooking differential diagnoses that require medical attention. Once someone is over the age of 18, I think people would be in a better position to make these however I still don't prescribe to the idea that men can become women and vice versa.

 @9FM49VWACTdisagreed…8mos8MO

There are too many unknown health risks associated with allowing this and morally wrong to allow children to make such uninformed decisions.

 @9FFMJDCLabourdisagreed…8mos8MO

It’s an unnecessary unnatural support for people who are struggling mentally to figure out who they are, should not be encouraged or supplied,

 @9FZ2FLCdisagreed…7mos7MO

If you’ve over a certain age where your brain is developed and you are capable of making decisions, full gender transition should be available, before that age none should be available.

No. Our bodies are created by God. Give them time to develop, learn, experience and grow into adulthood
